Been coming here to this family owned restaurant for over two decades. The place is small but comfortable. The service is good since both front and kitchen are run by family. The front is run by the owner's kids so there is no language barrier. Their pan fried wontons with peanut sauce is to die for. That sweet and slightly tangy sauce along with the aroma of crunchy peanuts is very unique that you will not find in other Shanghainese restaurants. The soup dumplings have improved over the years and is on par with other places so expect a burst of favorable hot soup in each dumpling. The casseroles are huge and comes with a very delicious glass noodles that has this lovely chewy texture. A personal favorite is the salted fish and chicken fried rice. It's an excellent fried rice with the unami of the salted fish. If you're into spice, try the stir fry beef and dried tofu with pepper. The dish has a great flavor but more importantly, wok hay. The Hong Kong style hot and sour soup is also a hidden gem that has seafood and pork/pork belly along with bamboo shoots and wood ear mushroom. I love this Brooklyn gem! I come often with my family and friends, would say one of the best spots to get soupy dumplings in Brooklyn. Only thing is their new servers are a little bit slower but the food makes it up for it all. I would suggest anyone who’s trying it out for the first time to come early and avoid the wait. Being such a popular place wait times can get a little long. However the food always comes out fast, hot, and delicious.

Ordered the rice cakes with chicken, the rice cakes were perfectly chewy just the way I like it and wasn’t super salty like other Shanghai places I’ve tried. It also wasn’t drenched in sauce. If they gave a little bit more chicken it would’ve been better! The pork soup dumplings were delicious too! Just wished they were all stuffed a little bit more because they did seem a little bit small. The jellyfish was really good too, it was thick and had a strong vinegar flavor! Loved the music they were playing, like Rewrite the stars and other chill acoustic classic songs. Free hot tea is included.

20260220::i finally tried this place, and its pretty good, had the beef tomato lunch special, it was a bit too sweet for me, but next time no tomatoes, which makes this a beef in egg swirl, it came with hot & sour soup. the scallion pankake is done RIGHT, but needed more sauce

Local Besonhurst favorite for Shanghainese dishes. They’re known for the soup dumplings and crispy wontons with peanut sauce. The hot and sour soup has good flavor and just the right about of spice too. My fiends always end up getting their mock duck- that’s made with tofu. The place is pretty small and right, so prepared to wait during dinner rush hours. They only have1 large table for groups of 10. The prices here are reasonable for the portion amount. No wonder why the locals love it here!
